Pilates was developed in the 1880’s by Joseph Pilates, who recognised the significance of using the intrinsic core muscles (Transverse Abdominus, Multifidis and the pelvic floor) and the importance of having the core muscles lightly contracted during activity. There are eight principles of Pilates that are addressed and worked on during classes; Relaxation, Concentration, Alignment, Centering, Breathing, Co-ordination, Flowing movements and Stamina. Pilates involves light, no-impact exercises that work on improving postural muscles, increase core strength, improve balance and mobility, improve co-ordination and assist in preventing injury.

Physio-led Group Exercise Sessions with Pilates:
Saturdays at 8am
Saturdays at 9am
